In Islam, the educational process begins even before birth, with the selection of a life partner, and continues throughout childhood and adolescence. This study adopts a qualitative method using content analysis. The primary sources include Qur’anic verses, hadiths, scholarly literature, and relevant contemporary sociological theories. This approach enables the author to explore the compatibility between Islamic principles and sociological perspectives in the context of family education. The author also compares the Islamic approach with modern sociological theories, which focus on social and psychological mechanisms. While both acknowledge the importance of the family, Islam adds another dimension through the values of faith, belief, and morality. The discussion further highlights contemporary challenges faced by the family institution, including media influence, shifts in social structures, economic pressures, and a lack of community support. In conclusion, the effectiveness of Islamic educational socialization within the family requires active collaboration among parents, society, and religious institutions to nurture a generation that is intellectually, spiritually, and morally balanced. A holistic approach grounded in Islamic values must be prioritized to raise children who succeed not only in this world but also in the hereafter.</em></p> <p>Artikel ini membincangkan konsep sosialisasi pendidikan kekeluargaan menurut perspektif Islam dengan memberi penekanan terhadap peranan institusi keluarga sebagai agen sosialisasi utama dalam pembentukan keperibadian dan identiti anak-anak. Dalam Islam, proses pendidikan bermula seawal sebelum kelahiran melalui pemilihan pasangan hidup dan diteruskan sepanjang perkembangan kanak-kanak dan remaja secara berperingkat. Kajian ini dilaksanakan melalui kaedah kualitatif dengan pendekatan analisis kandungan. Sumber utama kajian ini meliputi ayat-ayat al-Quran, hadis, literatur ilmiah serta teori-teori sosiologi kontemporari yang relevan. Pendekatan ini membolehkan penulis meneliti integrasi antara prinsip Islam dan pandangan sosiologi dalam konteks pendidikan kekeluargaan. Penulis turut membandingkan pendekatan Islam dengan teori-teori sosiologi moden yang masing-masing memberi tumpuan kepada mekanisme sosial dan psikologi. Walaupun kedua-duanya mengiktiraf pentingnya keluarga, Islam memberikan dimensi tambahan melalui nilai keimanan, akidah dan akhlak. Perbincangan turut mengetengahkan pelbagai cabaran kontemporari yang dihadapi institusi keluarga termasuk pengaruh media, perubahan struktur sosial, tekanan ekonomi dan kekurangan sokongan komuniti. It highlights how waqf, rooted in Islamic teachings as a form of perpetual charity, has historically contributed to education, healthcare, housing, and community welfare from the time of the Prophet to modern times. The study examines the evolution of waqf institutions, their governance framework in Malaysia, and their role in supporting national development agendas through initiatives managed by State Islamic Religious Councils (SIRC). It also examines contemporary practices and challenges, including governance transparency, legal constraints, limited public awareness, and technological gaps. The findings emphasize that waqf remains a vital financial mechanism for socio-economic empowerment, provided that reforms in management, innovation, and digitalization are strengthened. Overall, waqf not only fulfills religious obligations but also serves as a strategic tool for equitable wealth distribution, poverty alleviation, and community resilience, in line with the principles of Maqasid al-Shariah.</em></p> <p>Kajian ini meneliti konsep, peranan dan kepentingan wakaf sebagai instrumen sosioekonomi yang berperanan dalam memacu pembangunan mampan dan keadilan sosial dalam masyarakat Islam. Wakaf yang berasaskan ajaran Islam sebagai amalan sedekah jariah telah lama menyumbang kepada sektor pendidikan, kesihatan, perumahan dan kebajikan masyarakat sejak zaman Rasulullah SAW hingga era moden. Kajian ini turut membincangkan evolusi institusi wakaf, kerangka tadbir urus di Malaysia serta peranannya dalam menyokong agenda pembangunan negara melalui inisiatif di bawah Majlis Agama Islam Negeri (MAIN). Selain itu, ia menelusuri amalan dan cabaran kontemporari seperti isu ketelusan tadbir urus, kekangan undang-undang, tahap kesedaran masyarakat yang rendah dan keterbatasan penggunaan teknologi. One area he addressed was Islamic creed (‘aqidah), particularly the methodology of the sifat khabariyyah (scriptural attributes of God), which remains a subject of disagreement among Muslims today. Al-Qaradawi believed that differences of opinion would continue to exist; however, such differences should not undermine the unity of faith among Muslims.The objective of this study is to evaluate al-Qaradawi’s theological methodology regarding the sifat khabariyyah, particularly the contrast between the Salafi school’s method of ithbat and the Khalaf school’s methods of ta’wil and tafwid. This study employs a qualitative approach using a content analysis research design, analyzing documented materials such as magazines, books, journals, written reports, and websites. The findings reveal that al-Qaradawi adopted both the methods of ithbat and ta’wil in addressing the issue of sifat khabariyyah, while also acknowledging that the creed methodology embraced all three approaches: ithbat, ta’wil, and tafwid. Al-Qaradawi further argued that these three theological approaches, represented today by the Salafi and Khalaf schools, fall within the framework of Ahl al-Sunnah wa al-Jama‘ah. Therefore, al-Qaradawi strongly emphasized the importance of ummah unity among Muslims and rejected excessive fanaticism, as all three methods still belong to the tradition of Ahl al-Sunnah wa al-Jama‘ah. It is hoped that this study will help ease theological disputes concerning the methods of ithbat, ta’wil, and tafwid through al-Qaradawi’s moderate approach, in line with the teachings of Islam.</em></p> <p>Al-Qaradawi sebagai seorang tokoh ulama berpengaruh di dunia telah memberikan sumbangan dakwah yang bernilai kepada umat Islam. Antara bidang dakwah yang disantuninya ialah akidah Islam dalam mengupas tentang metode sifat<em> khabariyyah </em>seperti yang diperselisihkan oleh umat Islam hari ini. Al-Qaradawi percaya bahawa perselisihan pendapat akan tetap berlaku, namun ia tidak sepatutnya menggugat kesatuan akidah di antara kalangan umat Islam. Objektif kajian ialah menilai metode akidah al-Qaradawi terhadap sifat <em>khabariyyah</em>, di antara metode <em>ithbat</em> yang dipegangi oleh aliran Salafiyyah, dan <em>ta’wil</em> serta <em>tafwid</em> yang didukungi oleh aliran Khalaf. Kajian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif melalui reka bentuk kajian analisis kandungan, iaitu analisis terhadap bahan dokumentasi seperti majalah, buku, jurnal, laporan bertulis dan laman web. Hasil kajian mendapati bahawa al-Qaradawi berpegang dengan metode <em>ithbat</em> dan <em>ta’wil</em> dalam isu sifat <em>khabariyyah</em>, dan juga mengakui bahawa metode akidah Salaf ialah berpegang dengan semua metode <em>ithbat</em>, <em>ta’wil</em> dan <em>tafwid</em>. Al-Qaradawi berpendapat bahawa ketiga-tiga metode akidah tersebut yang diwakili oleh Salafiyyah dan Khalaf pada hari ini adalah semuanya termasuk dalam aliran Ahli Sunnah wal Jamaah. Justeru itu al-Qaradawi sangat menekankan keperluan kesatuan ummah di antara umat Islam dan menolak sikap fanatik yang melampau kerana ketiga-tiga metode tersebut masih lagi tergolong dalam aliran Ahli Sunnah wal Jamaah. Prevailing academic discourse frequently categorizes the role of female narrators merely as transmitters of memorized texts, thereby marginalizing their critical aptitude in evaluating the authenticity of the content, whereas gender bias in hadith historiography has further distorted scholarly enquiry into the framework of ‘ilm al-rijāl in its entirety. Accordingly, this qualitative study employs a document analysis design grounded in thematic and hermeneutic approaches on authoritative hadith sources to identify and analyze the methodological framework utilized by the wives of the Prophet (PBUH). The research findings demonstrate that prominent figures such as Sayyidatina </em><em>‘Aishah</em><em> and Ummu Salamah (RA) pioneered comprehensive instruments for hadith evaluation, encompassing cross-referencing with the Quran, rational deduction, assessing the consistency of retention, as well as the objective correction of factual errors made by other narrators, completely devoid of emotional sentiment. Theoretically, these findings suggest that the epistemological framework of al-Jarḥ wa al-Ta’dīl was not constructed exclusively within a male scholarly domain; rather, it was structured from its earliest phase through the systematic methodological authority of the Ummahāt al-Mu’minīn, firmly rooted in their direct engagement with the source of revelation. In conclusion, this study highlights a paradigm shift regarding the stature of the Ṣaḥābiyyāt; rather than being passive narrators, they were authoritative experts who established the practical foundations of hadith criticism methodology, thereby necessitating a critical reassessment of the prevailing narrative surrounding the construction of ‘ilm al-rijāl in mainstream Islamic historiography</em><em>.</em></p> <p>Kajian ini menelusuri aplikasi asas ilmu <em>al-Jarḥ wa al-Ta’dīl </em>dalam kalangan <em>Ṣaḥābiyyāt</em>, dengan penumpuan khusus terhadap metodologi <em>Ummahāt al-Mu’minīn</em> sebagai juru <em>tahqīq</em> riwayat. Dapatan kajian membuktikan bahawa tokoh seperti ‘Aishah dan Ummu Salamah RA telah merintis instrumen penilaian hadis yang komprehensif, merangkumi rujukan silang bersandarkan al-Quran, qiyas rasional, ujian konsistensi ingatan serta pembetulan ralat fakta perawi lain secara objektif tanpa dipengaruhi sentimen emosi. Secara teoritikal, dapatan ini mencadangkan bahawa kerangka epistemologi <em>al-Jarḥ wa al-Ta’dīl</em> tidak terbina secara eksklusif dalam ruang keilmuan lelaki, sebaliknya telah distrukturkan sejak peringkat awalnya melalui autoriti metodologi <em>Ummahāt al-Mu’minīn</em> yang bersifat sistematik dan berakar pada interaksi langsung dengan sumber wahyu. Existing studies primarily focus on the legal and administrative aspects of gold jewelry zakat, with limited attention to its role in long-term human capital development. At the same time, early childhood education is widely recognized as a strategic investment in human capital development, especially for children from low-income families. This study therefore explores the potential of gold jewelry zakat as a targeted social finance instrument to support early childhood education in Malaysia. This study employs a qualitative conceptual approach, using thematic analysis of selected literature and policy documents related to zakat, early childhood education, social investment, and Maqasid al-Syariah. The literature was selected based on relevance, academic credibility, and contextual suitability to Malaysia and contemporary Islamic social finance discourse. The analysis focused on identifying dominant themes, research gaps, and conceptual linkages between zakat distribution and early childhood human capital development. The findings reveal a significant gap between the financial potential of gold jewelry zakat and its targeted contribution to early childhood development, as current zakat education initiatives remain largely focused on formal education. In response, the study proposes the ZE-PAKK Model (Zakat Emas–Pendidikan Awal Kanak-Kanak), which positions gold jewelry zakat as a strategic social investment instrument through targeted, impact-oriented educational support. This study contributes to the literature by extending the discourse on zakat from a legal-administrative framework toward a sustainable human capital development perspective aligned with Maqasid al-Syariah.</em></p> <p>Walaupun kutipan zakat di Malaysia, termasuk zakat emas perhiasan, menunjukkan peningkatan yang konsisten, impak langsungnya terhadap pendidikan awal kanak-kanak masih kurang diterokai. Kajian-kajian sedia ada lebih banyak menumpukan aspek hukum, uruf dan mekanisme pentadbiran zakat emas perhiasan, manakala perbincangan mengenai impak sosial jangka panjangnya, khususnya dalam konteks pendidikan awal kanak-kanak, masih terhad. Pada masa yang sama, pendidikan awal kanak-kanak diiktiraf secara meluas sebagai pelaburan strategik dalam pembangunan modal insan, terutama bagi kanak-kanak daripada keluarga berpendapatan rendah. Oleh itu, kajian ini meneroka potensi zakat emas perhiasan sebagai instrumen kewangan sosial yang bersasar untuk menyokong pendidikan awal kanak-kanak di Malaysia. Kajian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif berbentuk konseptual melalui analisis tematik terhadap literatur terpilih dan dokumen dasar berkaitan zakat, pendidikan awal kanak-kanak, pelaburan sosial dan Maqasid al-Syariah. The main problem examined is the difficulty foreign students have in mastering the complex Malay grammar system, particularly its morphological and syntactic aspects. Using content analysis of student writing, the study examines error patterns, including the use of affixes, the selection of noun conjunctions, and sentence structure. The findings indicate that the influence of the mother tongue (interlinguistic) and confusion about the target language system (intralinguistic) are the primary factors behind these errors. The implications of this study are expected to strengthen the teaching staff's competence in addressing language-learning challenges among students at KIAS and to inform the design of a more effective, targeted Malay Communication teaching module to improve mastery of written and oral communication among international students.</em></p> <p>Kajian ini dijalankan bagi mengenal pasti dan menghuraikan bentuk-bentuk kesilapan nahu bahasa Melayu yang dilakukan oleh pelajar asing di Kolej Universiti Islam Antarabangsa Sultan Ismail Petra (KIAS). Masalah utama yang dikaji ialah kesukaran pelajar asing dalam menguasai sistem tatabahasa Melayu yang rencam, terutamanya dari aspek morfologi dan sintaksis. Dengan menggunakan metodologi analisis kandungan terhadap hasil penulisan pelajar, kajian ini meneliti bentuk kesalahan seperti penggunaan imbuhan, pemilihan kata sendi nama, dan struktur ayat. Dapatan kajian menunjukkan bahawa pengaruh bahasa ibunda <em>(interlinguistic)</em> dan kekeliruan terhadap sistem bahasa sasaran <em>(intralinguistic) </em>menjadi faktor utama berlakunya kesalahan tersebut. This phenomenon has a profound impact on the physical and mental well-being of society. Recognizing this issue, this study aims to examine the concept of work-life balance through the interpretive lens of Surah al-Furqān, verse 47. This qualitative research employs a document analysis approach, investigating eight authoritative classical and contemporary Quranic exegeses. The thematic analysis reveals three primary dimensions: first, the night as a phase of tranquility and physio-emotional restoration, visualized through the concept of libāsan (covering/sanctuary); second, the significance of sleep as an absolute energy-recovery mechanism grounded in the term subātan (ultimate rest); and third, the manifestation of the day as a medium for productivity and the ethical pursuit of livelihood, guided by the philosophy of nushūran (resurgence/activity). The study advocates integrating these divine principles of temporal balance into the formulation of human resource policies and organizational management strategies to effectively curtail the culture of employee rest-time exploitation. In conclusion, the adoption of the Quranic time-management framework serves as a potent instrument in ensuring a holistic, productive, and sustainable quality of life.</em></p> <p>Gaya hidup kontemporari semakin mengaburkan sempadan antara waktu rehat dan waktu bekerja, lantas mencetuskan fenomena kelesuan pekerjaan serta ketidakseimbangan kehidupan-kerjaya. Senario ini memberikan implikasi yang kritikal terhadap kesejahteraan fizikal dan mental masyarakat. Menyedari hakikat ini, kajian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis konsep keseimbangan kehidupan-kerjaya berdasarkan perspektif tafsiran Surah al-Furqān, ayat 47. Reka bentuk kajian kualitatif ini mengaplikasikan pendekatan analisis dokumen terhadap lapan (8) karya tafsir yang merangkumi era klasik dan kontemporari. Analisis tematik mendedahkan tiga (3) teras utama: pertama, malam sebagai fasa kedamaian serta pemulihan jasmani dan emosi yang digambarkan melalui konsep <em>libāsan</em>; kedua, penegasan terhadap kepentingan tidur sebagai mekanisme pemulihan tenaga mutlak berteraskan terma <em>subātan</em>; dan ketiga, manifestasi siang sebagai medium produktiviti dan pencarian rezeki beretika berpandukan falsafah <em>nushūran</em>. Yet discussions of integrity are often confined to administrative ethics and modern governance, without a comprehensive articulation within the framework of Maqasid al-Shariah. Accordingly, this study aims to examine the role of integrity as an instrument of development grounded in Maqasid al-Shariah by analyzing the Membangun Bersama Islam (MBI) approach in the State of Kelantan. This study employs a qualitative approach, using conceptual and documentary analysis and drawing on classical and contemporary sources related to integrity, Maqasid al-Shariah, and Islamic development policies in Kelantan. The findings reveal that, from the Islamic perspective, integrity transcends mere moral values or regulatory compliance; rather, it functions as a strategic mechanism that connects the principles of Maqasid al-Shariah with the practical realities of development policy implementation. Based on this analysis, the study proposes a conceptual framework of integrity grounded in the five principal dimensions of Maqasid al-Shariah, namely the preservation of religion (ḥifẓ al-dīn), life (ḥifẓ al-nafs), intellect (ḥifẓ al-‘aql), lineage (ḥifẓ al-nasl), and wealth (ḥifẓ al-māl). This framework emphasizes that the success of Islam-based development does not solely depend on the strength of policies and institutional structures but is also influenced by the level of appreciation for and implementation of integrity in every aspect of administration and development. This study contributes to the expansion of existing literature by strengthening the understanding of integrity from the perspective of Maqasid al-Shariah and by providing a conceptual foundation for further empirical research on integrity practices within the context of Islamic development.</em></p> <p>Integriti merupakan komponen teras dalam memastikan keberkesanan pelaksanaan pembangunan yang berasaskan nilai Islam. Namun demikian, perbincangan mengenai integriti sering tertumpu kepada dimensi etika pentadbiran dan tadbir urus moden semata-mata, tanpa penzahiran yang menyeluruh dalam kerangka Maqasid Syariah. Sehubungan itu, kajian ini bertujuan meneliti peranan integriti sebagai instrumen pembangunan berteraskan Maqasid Syariah melalui analisis terhadap pendekatan Membangun Bersama Islam (MBI) di negeri Kelantan. Virtual khalwat refers to a two-way digital interaction between a man and a non-mahram woman in a private communication space that may lead to suspicion, temptation, or moral transgression. While the issue of interaction between non-mahram individuals has been widely discussed by contemporary scholars, specific deliberations on digital interactions remain general and lack systematic legal formulation. This study aims to analyze the concept of virtual khalwat and determine its legal ruling based on the prohibition of physical khalwat from an Islamic legal perspective. The research adopts a qualitative approach through a library-based study, employing content analysis and qiyas methodology grounded in primary and secondary sources. The findings indicate that virtual khalwat can be analogically extended to physical khalwat due to the shared ‘illah, namely the seclusion between a man and a non-mahram woman that may lead to fitnah and moral depravity. This conclusion is supported by empirical data demonstrating the rise of social problems and the deterioration of moral values among youth and family institutions in the digital era. Accordingly, the study concludes that virtual khalwat is legally prohibited based on qiyas with physical khalwat, except in cases of necessity. These findings have significant implications for the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Communications, and Islamic religious authorities in strengthening guidelines on social media usage from an Islamic perspective within the national education system.</em></p> <p>Perkembangan pesat teknologi digital telah mengubah pola interaksi manusia ke arah komunikasi maya yang semakin terbuka dan tidak terbatas, sekali gus mencetuskan fenomena “khalwat maya” dalam kalangan masyarakat Islam. Khalwat maya ialah interaksi digital dua hala antara lelaki dan perempuan <em>ajnabiyah</em> dalam ruang komunikasi tertutup yang mendorong kepada syak, fitnah atau rangsangan syahwat.&nbsp; Isu pergaulan lelaki dan perempuan <em>ajnabiyah</em> telah dibahaskan oleh sarjana kontemporari, namun perbincangan khusus berkaitan interaksi digital masih bersifat umum dan belum dirumuskan secara sistematik dari sudut hukum. Justeru, kajian ini bertujuan menganalisis konsep khalwat maya serta menetapkan hukumnya berdasarkan hukum asal pengharaman khalwat menurut perspektif syarak. Kajian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif melalui kajian perpustakaan dengan mengaplikasikan kaedah analisis kandungan dan metodologi qias dalam sumber primer dan sekunder. Dapatan kajian menunjukkan bahawa khalwat maya boleh diqiaskan kepada khalwat hakiki kerana berkongsi <em>‘illah</em> yang sama, iaitu wujud suasana bersunyian antara lelaki dengan perempuan <em>ajnabiyah</em> yang boleh mencetuskan fitnah dan kerosakan moral. Fakta ini disokong oleh data empirikal yang menunjukkan peningkatan masalah sosial dan keruntuhan moral remaja dan institusi kekeluargaan dalam era digital. Sehubungan itu, artikel menyimpulkan khalwat maya tertakluk kepada hukum haram berdasarkan aplikasi qias dengan khalwat hakiki, kecuali ketika terdapat keperluan mendesak. This community is distinguished by its significant economic, academic, and social influence both within the country and beyond. The research is grounded in the author’s position as a Chinese Muslim scholar with nearly thirty years of field experience studying and teaching dakwah among this segment of society, along with proficiency in both the language of the Quran and the language of the Chinese audience. The study aims to achieve several objectives, most notably: identifying the obstacles that hinder the reach of Islamic dakwah to non-Muslim Chinese; presenting field-based observations and perspectives drawn from non-Muslim Chinese individuals themselves, as well as from some Malay Muslims; and analyzing the social, psychological, and cultural dimensions that influence the trajectory of dakwah. It ultimately seeks to propose practical mechanisms and effective solutions to overcome these challenges. The researcher adopts a descriptive and analytical methodology based on field observation and direct personal experience, supported by interviews and dialogues conducted with relevant stakeholders over several decades. The study is further grounded in Islamic jurisprudential references derived from the Quran and the Prophetic Sunnah, while also taking into account the statistical and social context of contemporary Malaysian society. The findings indicate that there are fundamental obstacles impeding the progress of dakwah among non-Muslim Chinese. These include mutual misconceptions, limited religious openness among some Malay preachers, and cultural, linguistic, and social barriers. The study emphasizes that inviting the Chinese community to Islam is a religious obligation that must not be treated with negligence. It stresses that genuine reform begins with an honest diagnosis of the problem before seeking remedies, inspired by the Quranic guidance: “I only intend reform to the best of my ability” (Hud: 88).</em></p> <p>يتناول هذا البحث قضية الدعوة الإسلامية الموجهة إلى الجالية الصينية غير المسلمة في ماليزيا، وهي جالية يبلغ تعدادها نحو ستة ملايين وثمانمائة ألف نسمة وفق إحصاءات عام 2022م، تتميز بثقلها الاقتصادي والعلمي والاجتماعي البارز داخل البلاد وخارجها. وينطلق البحث من موقع الباحث بوصفه باحثاً صينياً مسلماً ذا خبرة ميدانية تمتد لنحو ثلاثين عاماً في حقل الدراسة والتدريس المتعلق بالدعوة بين هذه الشريحة المجتمعية، مع إتقانه لغة القرآن مع لغة المدعوين الصينيين. يسعى البحث إلى تحقيق جملة من الأهداف، أبرزها: رصد المعوقات والحواجز الحقيقية التي تحول دون وصول الدعوة الإسلامية إلى الصينيين غير المسلمين، واستعراض الآراء والملاحظات الميدانية المستقاة من الصينيين غير المسلمين أنفسهم ومن بعض المسلمين الملايويين، وتحليل الأبعاد الاجتماعية والنفسية والثقافية المؤثرة في مسار الدعوة، وصولاً إلى اقتراح آليات عملية وحلول ناجحة للتغلب على هذه العقبات. اعتمد الباحث على المنهج الوصفي والتحليلي القائم على الملاحظة الميدانية والتجربة الذاتية المباشرة، مستعيناً بالمقابلات والحوارات التي أجراها مع أطراف معنية على مدى عقود، مستندا إلى المرجعية الشرعية المستنبطة من النصوص القرآنية والسنة النبوية الشريفة، مع مراعاة السياق الإحصائي والاجتماعي للواقع الماليزي المعاصر. خلص البحث إلى أن ثمة معوقات جوهرية تعترض مسيرة الدعوة بين الصينيين غير المسلمين، منها ما يتعلق بالتصورات الخاطئة المتبادلة، ومنها ما ينبثق من ضيق الأفق الديني لدى بعض الدعاة الملايويين، فضلاً عن الحواجز الثقافية واللغوية والاجتماعية. وأكد البحث أن دعوة الصينيين إلى الإسلام واجب شرعي لا تحتمل المسؤولية الدينية التهاون فيه، مشدداً على أن الإصلاح الحقيقي يبدأ بالتشخيص الصادق للداء قبل البحث عن الدواء، استلهاماً من توجيه القرآن الكريم: ﴿ إِنۡ أُرِيدُ إِلَّا ٱلۡإِصۡلَٰحَ مَا ٱسۡتَطَعۡتُۚ ﴾(هود: 88).</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> Yunus Abdullah Ma Zheng Bin Copyright (c) 2026 https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc/4.0 http://www.ejournals.kias.edu.my/index.php/rabbanica/article/view/435 Mon, 25 May 2026 00:00:00 +0800 The Development of a Competency System for Excellent Mosque Management Based on Artificial Intelligence (AI) Elements http://www.ejournals.kias.edu.my/index.php/rabbanica/article/view/439 <p><em>The excellence of the mosque institution depends entirely on the management that steers the leadership of the mosque institution. Charismatic leadership and its structured organizational system are able to have a great impact in reviving the image of the mosque institution as well as the entire congregation and community. In this regard, there is a need to develop a profiling system and the competence of excellent mosque management based on elements of artificial intelligence (AI) to identify the list of knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as the level of mastery of each competence that must be possessed by mosque management members to consistently drive the excellence of mosque institutions. This study employs a qualitative case study method and a Design and Development Research (DDR) approach. The DDR approach is used to test the practical usability of a model, namely the artificial intelligence (AI) element in the development of this system, and it involves four phases of study, namely the needs analysis, design, development, and usability assessment phases of the model in this system. The research data for the development of this system were collected from four outstanding mosques that have received recognition from the Department of Islamic Affairs in Malaysia. Using a qualitative approach through thematic content analysis, this study examines the arguments of the Quran, scholarly references from books of interpretation, narration, and history, and criticism from contemporary scholars. The study findings show that the doctrine of the Heavenly Religion, as highlighted by some modern thinkers, contradicts the principles of Islamic faith based on the texts of the Quran, which emphasise that Islam alone is the religion that is pleasing to Allah SWT. In this regard, the analysis of the verses of the Quran, narration, and history found that this doctrine of the Heavenly Religion has the potential to affect the faith of Muslims.
